I recently started running in road races – not because I think I might win (no illusions there), but because it’s fun and it gives me something to prepare for and a way to gauge my progress. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
1. Great Aloha Run – Monday, Feb. 16, 2008. An 8.15 mile run from Aloha Tower to Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. I finished in 1:36:04 (11:48 per mile).
2. Straub/Kapi’olani Women’s 10K – A 10K (6.2 mile) run from Kapi’olani Park over Diamond head to Kahala and back. I finished in 1:05 (10:48 per mile).
3. Hibiscus Half-Marathon – I just signed up; it’ll take place in June.
